Lake Livingston

Lake Livingston has boating, fishing, jet skiing and more!

Lake Livingston has good fishing, boating and jetskiing and is conveniently located only about 80 miles north of Houston.  Lake Livingston is 39 miles long with a shoreline of approximately 450 miles, making it the third largest lake in Texas.  At its widest point Lake Livingston is approximately 7 miles wide.

There are campgrounds, rental cabins, motels, RV parks and other lodging around the lake and in the nearby towns.  You will also find dining and shopping in the local towns.  Some of the towns have boat and personal watercraft rentals.  There are two 18 hole golf courses within 30 minutes of the lake.

Some of the towns in the Lake Livingston area are:  Sebastopol, Carlisle, Onalaska, Blanchard, Moore Hill, Livingston, Swartout, Goodrich, Urbana, Rose Hill, Wolf Creek, Willow Springs, Snow Hill, Pointblank, Oakhurst Palmetto Park and Gospel Hill.  Many people have vacation and retirement homes on the lake and in some of the towns.

The fishing can be good to excellent on Lake Livingston.  Texas Parks and Wildlife rates the fishing excellent for Catfish and White Bass and good for Stripe/Hybrid Bass, Crappie and Sunfish.  They rate the fishing fair for Largemouth Bass.
